Kevin Truitt, senior staff attorney at the National Disability Rights Network, will present on recent changes under federal Medicaid law that will impact many people with disabilities, including:
- H.R. 1’s new Medicaid work requirements for certain Medicaid beneficiaries; and
- federal Medicaid funding cuts that may impact access to home and community-based services in some states.
The presentation will also cover the Supreme Court’s 1999 landmark decision in Olmstead v. L.C. and the evolving legal landscape of rights to community integration, as well as resources available to families, like protection and advocacy systems in every state and territory.
