Attendees will learn how to approach family engagement and competitive integrated employment from a strengths-based lens and is intended to promote improved partnerships with families. Tools and strategies will be shared that help families envision a future that includes community connections, new experiences, and meaningful work.

¿Las familias con las que trabaja están entusiasmadas o preocupadas por la posibilidad de que su hijo/a con discapacidad encuentre un trabajo real en la comunidad? Esta sesión analiza la importancia de involucrar a las familias en el proceso de transición a la educación secundaria, haciendo hincapié en el empleo integrado competitivo como el resultado ideal. Los asistentes aprenderán a abordar la participación familiar y el empleo integrado competitivo desde una perspectiva centrada en las fortalezas, con el objetivo de fomentar una mejor colaboración con las familias. Se compartirán herramientas y estrategias que ayudarán a las familias a visualizar un futuro con conexiones comunitarias, nuevas experiencias y un trabajo significativo.
